Is Hoodia Gordonii the Holy Grail of Weight Loss

Everyone is looking for an easy way to lose weight, so when Hoodia Gordoni came on the market, everyone jumped at the chance to try it. People started flocking to the drug stores and other retailers to get in on this new Holy Grail of Weight Loss.

Does it really work? Can it be as simple as that? The most important question is whether it’s safe to take. Over the course of time, many diet supplements were introduced that claimed to work, but the problem was they were also found to be bad for your health. Products such as fenfluramine were pulled off the market, because they were found to cause serious side effects, up to and including heart attacks.

Hoodia Gordoni is a natural appetite suppressant from the Kalahari Desert in South Africa. It looks like a cactus plant but is actually an herb that Bushmen from the area have used for centuries in order to prevent hunger pangs during long desert trips. Presently the pharmaceutical companies are trying to isolate the P57 molecule that is in Hoodia in order to develop a new diet drug for the future.

Although there are different varieties of Hoodia, only Hoodia Gordoni has appetite suppressant qualities. It works by fooling the brain into thinking you have eaten, thus making you feel full even if you haven’t eaten a bite. In addition to a reduction in a person’s interest in food, there also appears to be a longer period of time following a meal until you feel hungry again. Taking Hoodia Gordoni also makes you feel full quicker, thus you will eat less.

How quickly Hoodia works for each person is an individual thing. For some people it will work right away, but for others, it may take several weeks. It depends on your own metabolism and how your body reacts to the appetite suppressants in the Hoodia. There are no known side effects connected with the use of Hoodia, and it appears to be safe for everyone to use.

Although it seems too good to be true, evidence seems to support claims of Hoodia’s effectiveness in suppressing the appetite in order to stimulate weight loss. One of the biggest problems that seems to plague Hoodia is reports of fake Hoodia. Whenever a good product becomes available, there always seems to be a problem with others trying to capitalize on it.

When buying this product, make sure the bottle states that it is true South African Hoodia. One of the other dead giveaways is the price. Pure Hoodia is very expensive, so if you see something that appears rather cheap in comparison to other varieties of Hoodia Gordoni, you probably have a fake. Those products may contain Hoodia, but only Hoodia Gordoni has the natural appetite suppressant ability.

How soon it will be until we will find a diet pill that works as well as Hoodia Gordoni, remains to be seen. For now, those who want a diet pill without side effects that they know will work has to pay the high price for this Holy Grail of weight loss.
